Hi,

I have been watching Bless this house on the Paramount Comedy channel,I don't remember it as a child even though I was old enough to have watched it.Think it is really great.

Thanks,Ruth Shone.

*****************************************************************

I would just like to say I was born in 1970 and I wish I was still there.Oh what a lovely era to be in,all that comedy and laughter. To me Sid James is my hero,an obvious icon of his day.I have seen most of his films including all the Carry On's and all the Bless This Houses and keep them in my collection. There were so many TV and Films that he was in,I read his biography and it made interesting reading.Anyway I'd luv to see this site grow bigger, thank you for creating it.

I’m a big Carry On and Bless This House fan.Though my 6 year old son can’t really understand English,he’s getting hooked as well! I found your website very informative and very well done.

I love Bless This House as I really find it linked to the Carry On films. But Bless this House is an all-time great comedy!

Thank You, From Alan Bowler.

I was brought up on Sid James and Bless This House in the Seventies,my daughter Lucy who is 8 years of age, absolutely loves Bless This House, she sits down every night at 6pm to watch it on Paramount TV.My son Harry who is 14 months sits there bouncing up and down to the music everytime he hears it.They make me so proud.

Regards,Ben Hallam.

Hi,

What a fantastic site,so informative.Am very much enjoying watching the series on Paramount at the moment (my daughter is hooked too). The site makes the series more real as I didn't see it when transmitted originally. The Abbott family seem so real, the casting was excellent, totally believable.Would be good to see the remaining actors reunited for interview......

Keep up the good work as site now added to 'favourites'!

Absolutely fantastic website,I have seen the odd episode now and then, but since Paramount Comedy on Sky started re-showing it from Episode 1 (b&w) I haven't missed an episode.I did enjoy the black and white episodes,as they brought a certain something special to the show.My favourite bits of the programme are when Sid has a drink and he shakes and shivers as though he's just drunk some lemon juice, and especially when he's had a few too many at the Hare & Hounds !! Also the way that Sally calls her parents 'Mummy and Daddy'......how cute.My favourite catchphrase of Mike's is.....'its a drag'.....

Keep up the great work, its a site to be proud of.

Hi there,

I just wanted to say that I don't remember Bless This House as I was not born but I have seen the film made by Peter Rogers and Gerald Thomas and thought that it was excellent as are the episodes. I am a big fan of Sid James and the Carry On's but it is also nice to see him in other films and comedies such as Bless This House.

Well done on the website,I think Sid James would have been proud of it.

What is Robin Stewart doing now?

Thanking you,

Lee Johnson,age 16,Harlow,Essex.

Hello,

Great site, brings back many memories with one of the most recognizable theme tunes. The 1970's were, for me,far and away the best era for sitcoms,so many classics.I'm actually watching it right now on Paramount Comedy 2 channel.

Really good to see the letters from Diana and William and that they really enjoyed the show as well.It would be great to hear what Anthony Jackson,Sally Geeson and Robin Stewart are doing now-does anyone have any recent pictures/photos? I'd love to see this site grow and grow.

Hi to all,

Just came across this excellent website, and I wanted to pass on my best wishes for a job well done! Like others I am a big "BTH" fan.

I came across this site the other evening after coming across an old VHS tape with some episodes of BTH from when it was shown on ITV-taped sometime in the 1980's!!

I was trying to see what episodes/series the episodes were from. Then I discovered the series are coming to DVD! Fantastic news, especially considering that the satellite channels cut out pieces of these shows to fit their schedules, sadly I would not have known this if I didn't have the original recordings from the 1980's to compare with an episode recently on satellite.Be warned!

All the best,

Jim Young

Hi there!

I'm based in Melbourne,Australia and I have very fond memories of all those classic Brit sitcoms from the Seventies! Man About The House,George and Mildred and Bless This House are all firm favourites.I was so wrapped to see them all come out on DVD in the last couple of years, they have given me hours of endless entertainment.

Hi there!

I thought I'd add a wee post to your messageboard!

I've only recently got into Bless This House, but I've been bitten by the bug big style! As I wasn't born until 1981,I only discovered the repeats currently being shown on Sky.Every episode cracks me up!My favourite episode is the 1st one!I think that being in black and white only adds to the nostalgia.

I think the reason it was so popular is that everyone can identify with the situations and dilemmas the Abbott family faced-my dad definately is Sid Abbott! In fact,it was my dad that got me into Sid James at a very young age as he is a huge Carry On fan.I'm now trying to get my 5 year old daughter into these movies so that she can carry on the family tradition!!!!

I'd love to know what happened to Diana Coupland and Robin Stewart,as without this fab site, there is next to nothing available on the net.

Anyway, congratulations on having such a good website and I look forward to returning to it many times in the future!

Thanks,Lynsey Moore.

Hi there!

I hope all you Bless this House and Carry On fans know that Sally Geeson is due to appear at the Memorabilia fair at Birmingham's NEC over the Saturday and Sunday of November 26th and 27th 2005 signing autographs! Too good to miss and I'm sure she'd be delighted to meet all the fans! Check first with the Memorabilia/NEC Websites before travelling to see if she's booked for both days - and don't forget your camera!!!

Also, look out for the Carryoon table selling Sid merchandising. The Carryoons is a proposed animated TV series produced by Ken Burns, which has the full backing of Peter Rogers. (New stories with superb animated set-ups with the gang!)Great likeness of Sid by Spitting Image/Madame Tussauds artist/sculptor Steve Mansfield will be on display and for purchase!!

Keep up the good work!

Steve,Carryoon Animator and Bless This House fan!!

Congratulations on an excellent website that pays tribute to one of my most favourite programmes of all time. It was great to read the letter from William G. Stewart, a man who, along with Peter Frazer-Jones, was one of Thames best producers/directors of classic sitcoms!

Keep up the great work, I look forward to seeing all the new updates you add over the coming months.

In the meantime I cannot wait to buy the new DVD and at last see the black and white episodes I have never seen of BTH!

Excellent site.Bless This House is my all time favourite. I was just wondering if anyone knows what Robin Stewart is doing these days as you never hear about him anymore. Once again, excellent site, long may it reign.

Really pleased to have just found this site from the Porridge web site. I have been a big Sid James fan since a kid so this is just what I'm looking for.I think Bless This House was Sid's best sitcom since the Hancock shows although I do like everything that he appeared in. I have over 60 episodes on VHS plus the '72 movie which I watch all the while. It's also great to have George and the Dragon & Two in Clover on DVD now, hope they will release more eps of Bless This House on DVD as well.

Anyway thanks for this great site.

Great to find a Bless this House site.It is my top sitcom. The four stars just seemed to have such a great chemistry. Every episode has brilliant moments and the film is just superb. If you're a fan of this show you'll know what I'm talking about. I met Sally Geeson recently in London and needless to say it made my day.

Hello,

I am a big fan of this show and I sometimes check the web for info on it.What a surprise to find a new site dedicated to it.What a shame that they haven't released the whole series on dvd or video.I became a fan of Sid James through Hancocks Half Hour and it was great to read his old articles on Look-In.

How great it is to find a site dedicated to Bless this House!I am a 70s sitcom addict and Bless this House is definately in my top three!

For all Sid James fans I can heartily recommend the book "The Complete Sid James" by Robert Ross as it gives an episode by episode guide to Bless This House, as well as a comprehensive history of Sid's career including all the Carry Ons.

Bless this site and may it continue to thrive and develop!

Nice to see the lovely smiling face of Sally Geeson again. She seemed to just be herself rather than acting.

Wishing success for your site.

Hi,

I found this site while looking for an old friend that I used to know in Hampstead North London.A group of friends including Robin Stewart used to meet in the Holly Bush pub.

We also went riding at Arkley Stud,Barnet Herts which I recall was owned or part owned by David Bloom.

Great web site, brings back a few memories.

Hi,

Glad to see that the 'Bless This House' site now has a messageboard so I thought that I would post on it.I was watching the 'Bless This House' film on video only the other day.I think it still stands up well and is a testament to Sid James that Peter Rogers and Gerald Thomas took time out from the 'Carry On's to make this with him.It is interesting to note the career paths of the actors playing his two children.Sally Geeson retired after the televison series finished whilst Robin Akswith went onto fame (or should that be infamy) in the four 'Confessions' films.I also really like Peter Butterworth's performance in the film as Sid's mate.He is an actor always worth watching and I have also enjoyed him as the monk in 'Doctor Who' and in the several 'Carry On' films he made at Pinewood.

Anyway all the best with the site and I hope it continues to grow.

Tim, London
